2012-07-14 TACnival by Zodiak Commune @ TAC Eindhoven

Tacnival takes place on Saturday the 14th of July 2012 in the Temporary Art Centre (TAC), near the PSV stadium and thus in the very heart of Eindhoven. Here the very casual atmosphere and intense electronic music make the experience worthwhile.

Not only the ear is spoiled this edition, also the eye and the stomach are well catered. The Café features a wide array of vintage optikinetics and self-designed visual gadgets from the light alchemist Co2RO, while ElChi releases his light fantasies this year in the "Schelpzaal". The modern "beachcombers" of We Love Trash even have their own exhibition space next to the Café, where they have built a week to have a bizarre installation made of scrap electronics, musical instruments, old computers and other noise-grade material. If you have ever wondered what you get when you cross a vacuum cleaner with a radio, this exhibition is the place to be. Add to that the tape-art of MVM, the visuals of VJ Lauphnoice Art and the decorations of Zinloos Geluid and Zodiak Commune and you really don't know where to look in TAC. For the rumbling stomach during Tacnival, you can visit the yurt of Martijn (Burgers) or Yeah's ChaiChill for a tasty bite.

Next to this, Tacnival will go nicely outside the musical comfort zone as promised, from the motley mix of dance and chill out music in the Café to the groundbreaking Dubstep and 8-bit Rave in the "Schelpzaal". And while the Tapaszaal is almost literally an impenetrable forest of the biggest Drum & Bass and Jungle, the very roots of the underground will be exposed again in the acid rain ravaged Tuinzaal with Acid, Techno and Tekno that even draws deep furrows in the soul of the most seasoned lovers.
